CC-MAX Elevator Bucket:
Polyethylene |
|
PATENT
PENDING
The
CC-MAX Heavy Duty elevator bucket is a
grade above older CC style buckets. It has the
traditional shape, fill and discharge
characteristics, with the thicker wear surfaces
our buckets are famous for. The result is longer
life and greater performance. CC-MAX buckets are
direct replacements for CC and other standard
bucket styles. Standard spacing is nominal
projection plus 2" inches. Exceptional
performance in most agricultural applications. |

Disclaimer: The thickness
measurements were taken from 9” x 5” polyethylene
elevator buckets. The thickness measurement testing was
conducted by GeoTesting Express, an independent testing
laboratory. Weight and capacity figures were taken from
published literature. Copies of the testing reports are
on file at Maxi-Lift.

Why was the CC-MAX designed?
Over the last several years, customers
kept asking Maxi-Lift for a CC style
bucket that would last longer. They
wanted a bucket with more strength,
longer life, and more capacity. They
told us they were tired of replacing
buckets every few years because the
bucket life was less than they expected
out of their buckets.
Why is it better than older CC designs?
There are several key reasons why the
CC-MAX is better than previous designs.
With 20%+ thicker front lip corners, the
bucket will last longer, maintain
capacity longer, and give you the
toughness to handles today's harsher
applications. The bucket is also
designed with more capacity to help you
move more bulk material faster within
the same bucket elevator.

Why are the corners and lip thicker?
The front corners and front lip are
20% thicker to give you longer life.
When a bucket wears, the front lip and
corners take the most abuse. As your
bucket wears, these areas will wear down
to a point in which the entire front lip
will rip out of the bucket leaving you
with little or no capacity. The CC-MAX
eliminates these problems by giving you
more material in the places the bucket
wears out first.
How do I get more capacity with the CC-MAX?
The
CC-MAX is designed to maximize the capacity of
the bucket. It gives you a little more capacity
from the start and helps maintain rated capacity
longer. Since the corners and front lip do not
wear as fast as other CC buckets, it maintains
your elevator capacity longer.
How
will the CC-MAX discharge?
The CC-MAX is built on the same principles as
the original CC metal elevator buckets that were
designed by KI-Willis in the early 1950’s. With
straight sides, curved bottom, and precise exit
angle, the buckets will discharge correctly over
a wide range of speeds and pulley’s sizes.
What material is the CC-MAX made from?
The CC-MAX is made from three different
materials - Prime Virgin Polyethylene, Du Pont
ST Zytel Nylon, and Urethane. Each material
provides different bucket characteristics to
guarantee longer life, and less breakage. See
material chart for more details on which
material is right for your application.
Can
I replace my existing CC buckets with the
CC-MAX?
The CC-MAX is directly interchangeable with any
plastic or metal CC elevator bucket. The unique
difference is that the CC-MAX is designed to
give you more capacity, and longer life.

Drilling: |
Elevator Buckets are manufactured
without a drill pattern. Special
drilling or punching can be accommodated
upon customer request. |
|
Venting: |
Available as needed. See venting options
in this catalog. |
|
Digger Buckets: |
Use slightly larger metal digger
elevator buckets to help loosen material
in the elevator boot section that has
set up or hardened, thereby reducing
abrasion on the plastic buckets. Call
for details on Metal Digger elevator
bucket options. |
|
Spacing: |
See elevator bucket spacing details in
the CC-MAX chart above (depending
on materials and speeds, smaller and
larger spacing may be used). |
|
Installation: |
Use a #1 standard elevator bolt or Sabre-Tooth
elevator bolt for installation. Designed
to be used with fender or flat and lock
washers and hex or locking nuts. If
buckets are being installed on chain,
use hex head bolts, nuts and washers. |

Economical, high density polyethylene.
FDA approved material for handling food
grade products. |
Best for high heat applications, with
tough impact and abrasion needs. |
Most flexible and abrasion resistant.
Resists product sticking and sharp
cutting particles. |
Engineered for specific requirements,
such as extreme temperature, abrasion,
color or product discharge. |
|
|
Venting an elevator bucket aids in
bucket fill and discharge with light,
fluffy materials. |
|
Lightweight, fluffy materials, those
that are extremely dense or flow poorly
can be difficult to handle in bucket
elevators at high speeds. Because these
materials tend to trap air when being
handled by an elevator bucket, it is
necessary to provide air relief to
assist in their filling and discharge.
Materials in this category might be
various flours, meals, feed mash or
screenings. As these materials enter the
bucket, air is released through a series
of vent holes in the bottom of the
bucket allowing for a more complete
fill. These vent holes also allow air to
re-enter the bucket, which facilitates
full release of product into the
discharge. Generally hole diameter is equal to bolt
holes drilled for attachment. In certain
cases, larger diameter holes may be
necessary.
When elevating powdery materials such as
cement in the Tiger-Tuff, a minimum of
two rows of 3/8" diameter vent holes are
recommended to help insure that the
material will discharge cleanly.
